Today, one in four of the world's children live in a country affected by conflict or disaster.UNICEF is calling for political solutions to end war for every child. We have witnessed our homeland, silent and dying....

Like a small candle, losing it's light

Sitting on the swing of loneliness, unhappy with our destiny

You are my home yet I see you wounded and broken

I am a mountain, steadfast before the storms

Longing to see the sun of peace rise in my heart

Our young souls demand calm without blame, without weapons,

Without blade or flame

Or how guns fire out in a furious dance

By shooting people, you wounded the sky

Return the sun to its sparkling light

We bear the memory of a happy time within us

And nostalgia agitates my heart

Raising our head to the sky and hoping there'll be change tomorrow

Where has hope gone, 

and how has peace eluded you my homeland?

Everyday people are being buried

And with them their hopes and dreams

Henceforth I will watch the path I take

Leaving gun behind, book and pen I will take

Can you smell the earth when the rain pours

The smell of hope,the smell of a new day

I dream of peace, warm hands and a bluish clear early sky

With songs for birds to pray

The sparrow are dancing in beautiful pairs

Looking for a peace to build its nest

Where love has made her blessings rest

All that pain we've had enough

Our country needs life and peace

It is something that we pray for when we think we have nothing left

A child running under the sun,,with a smile so bright that it lights a dull night

I can imagine such a day for hours and hours

Everyone one of us dreams of living in peace and stability

Peace is not seeing blood of men, women and children

Peace is rooted in ours words

In our smiles, in our fingers that have braved pain

Peace is never too late

Peace is living in a world without hate

हमने अपनी मातृभूमि को देखा है, मौन और मरते हुए ...।

हमने इसे एक छोटी मोमबत्ती की तरह प्रकाश खोते देखा है,

हमने इसे हमारे भाग्य से दुखी अकेलेपन के झूले पर बैठे देखा है,

हो तो आखिर तुम मेरे घर ही लेकिन मुझे घायल और टूटा हुआ दिखाई देते हो,

हम...तूफानों के आगे सीना ताने एक पहाड़ हैं

हमारे दिल में शांति के सूरज को देखने की लालसा है,

हमारी युवा आत्माएँ बिना दोष, बिना हथियारों के शांत रहने की माँग करती हैं,

बिना तलवार या आग की शांति,

बंदूक की गोलियों के तांडव नृत्य के बिना शांति,

लोगों को गोली मारकर, तुमने अब आकाश को घायल कर दिया है,

अब वक्त है कि सूरज को उसकी जगमगाती रोशनी लौटाई जाए,

 हम अपने भीतर एक सुखद समय की याद को संजोए हैं,

और जितने दुःख हैं वो हमारे हृदय को आंदोलित करते है

हम अपने सर को आकाश की ओर ऊंचा उठा यह आशा करते हैं कि कल बदलाव आएगा,

आशा कहां चली गई?

और शांति ने तुम्हें मेरी मातृभूमि से कैसे निकाल दिया?

रोज लोगों को दफनाया जा रहा है

और दफनाई जा रही है उनके साथ उनकी उम्मीदें और सपने

इसके बाद भी हम उन रास्तों पर चलेंगे जिनको हमने चुना है,

बंदूको को पीछे छोड़, किताब और कलम हम साथ ले जाएंगे,

क्या तुम बारिश के  बाद की धरती को सूंघ सकते हो?

यह आशा की महक है, एक नए दिन की महक है

हम शांति, गर्मजोशी और साफ नीले आसमान का सपना देखते हैं,

ऐसा आसमान जिसमें पक्षियों के प्रार्थना के लिए गीत हो,

गौरैया खूबसूरत जोड़ों में नाच रही हो,

अपना घोंसला बनाने के लिए शांति की तलाश में हो,

जहां प्यार ने उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया हो.....

 वह सारा दर्द जो हमें मिला वो पर्याप्त था

अब हमारे देश को जीवन और शांति की जरूरत है

 यह कुछ ऐसा है जिसके लिए हम प्रार्थना करते हैं जब हमें लगता है कि हमारे पास कुछ भी नहीं बचा है

एक बच्चा सूरज के सुनहरी किरण में चल रहा है, एक मुस्कान के साथ जो इतना उज्ज्वल है कि यह एक सुस्त अंधेरी रात को भी प्रकाशमय दे

 हम ऐसे खूबसरत दिन की घंटों कल्पना कर सकते हैं

 हम में से हर कोई शांति और स्थिरता में रहने का सपना देखता है

शांति पुरुषों, महिलाओं और बच्चों का खून नहीं देख रही है

शांति हमारे शब्दों में निहित है

हमारी मुस्कुराहट में, हमारी अंगुलियों में, जिनमें दर्द होता है

शांति के लिए कभी देर नहीं होती

शांति बिना नफरत के दुनिया में रह रही है.......¡!
